Our November kitchen of the month is a masterclass on how, when and where to use colour. During the very first design meeting, our clients stated they were not afraid to use colour and had very clear ideas on how they envisaged their finished kitchen. Three sides of the 4.7m island have been designed using a smooth lacquered door in vibrant cayenne with the remaining cabinets and tall units in cool carbon grey.
In order to achieve a 4.7m island, a fusion of Sensa granite and Dekton was used, giving not only a highly practical scratch and heatproof surface on which to work but also, an impressive worktop run that balances well with the tall units. The classic design of the Gaggenau ovens also enhances the linear look of this space. The proximity of the appliances and preparation areas make this kitchen extremely user-friendly and the relaxation zone at the end of the island makes it a truly multifunctional room.
The overall design results in a space that is not only striking, but tasteful, warm and welcoming. It has been an absolute pleasure to work on a project that uses colour so boldly and when you first walk into the room it is truly stunning.
