Did you know that May is National Asparagus Month?  It is in season in the UK from the end of April through to June and British varieties are considered some of the very best in the world.  Packed full of vitamins and folic acid it is a wonderfully versatile vegetable.  It can be baked, grilled, steamed or our personal favourite - griddled.  

To prepare, wash in cold water and snap off the woody ends, then either add to the pan or If you're serving it at a dinner party you may wish to peel it.
