Client Brief

This contemporary open-plan kitchen in Hereford combines refined minimalism with practical design. The space is centred around a striking quartz waterfall island, providing generous preparation space alongside informal seating for three.

Handleless cabinetry in a soft neutral tone creates a seamless aesthetic, complemented by a full-height quartz splashback for visual continuity. Integrated appliances maintain clean sightlines, while brass accents — including the tap and wall lighting — introduce warmth and subtle contrast.

Natural light floods the room through rear glazing, enhancing the calm, understated palette and reinforcing the connection between cooking, dining and social spaces. The layout prioritises flow and usability, ensuring the island functions as both a working hub and a gathering point.

This project demonstrates how thoughtful spatial planning and restrained material choices can deliver a highly functional yet elegant modern kitchen.
